Market Background
Egypt is strategically located in the northeastern part of Africa and includes the Sinai Peninsula in southwestern Asia, east of the Suez Canal. It serves as a key transportation hub connecting Asia and Africa and is a crucial maritime route between the Atlantic Ocean and the Indian Ocean. Egypt is one of the strongest economies in Africa, ranking third in terms of GDP after Nigeria and South Africa.

Egypt maintains an open market economy with well-developed industrial, agricultural, and service sectors. The service sector contributes approximately 50% of the country's GDP. The industrial sector is primarily composed of light industries such as textiles and food processing, while agriculture accounts for 14% of GDP, with 55% of the population residing in rural areas. Egypt's main sources of foreign exchange include oil and gas, tourism, remittances, and revenues from the Suez Canal. The country has trade relations with more than 120 countries and regions, with major trading partners including the United States, France, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and China. Encouraging foreign investment and boosting investor confidence are among the key priorities of the Egyptian government.
