Water damage: If you are installing wood beadboard, you will have to worry about water damage. If water leaks down from the roof or second story, it can extensively damage the beadboard.

Installation: Installing beadboard on a ceiling is a difficult process. By comparison, painting the ceiling will be a lot easier and take much less time to complete. Make sure that you know how to install beadboard on the ceiling before you get started.
