Product Introduction
PVC Brick Mould BTP180 is a rigid cellular PVC casing profile measuring 1-1/4 in. × 2 in., designed as the outermost trim piece around exterior doors and windows. It is the part of the frame that takes the weather head-on-the thick outer band that bridges the door jamb to the siding, exposed to rain, ground splash, and direct sun on every installation. In wood, this is the profile that rots first, and the repair means pulling trim off a finished opening. In PVC, it is waterproof through its full thickness, will not rot or feed termites, and arrives white and finished with no painting required. It cuts, nails, drills, and glues with standard woodworking tools.

The trim piece that fails first, re-engineered in PVC
A wood brick mould deteriorates from the bottom up. The cut end near the ground wicks moisture through the end-grain, the paint film cracks at the joint, and within a few seasons the bottom few inches are soft to the touch. The PVC version has no grain for water to travel through. The bottom end of a BTP180 sitting in ground splash behaves exactly like the middle of the board-which is to say, it does nothing at all.
At 1-1/4 inches thick and 2 inches wide, the profile has enough substance to read as a substantial architectural casing, not a thin decorative strip. Install it as a single profile or combine it with casing, sill, and drip cap from the same BODO® PVC family for a fully weather-sealed opening.

No Rot at the Bottom
Wood brick mould rots from the cut end upward. PVC has no end-grain to absorb moisture-the bottom of a BTP180 in ground splash stays sound for the life of the installation.
No Painting Required
Ships white and finished. Paint optional-use 100% acrylic latex for exterior colour retention in full-sun locations.
Standard Tools, One Extra Step
Cut on a miter saw with a carbide-tooth blade. Glue every joint with PVC cement and back it with stainless or hot-dipped galvanized nails-the glue-and-fasten rule that keeps corners closed through every season.
Installation notes for exterior brick mould
PVC expands and contracts with temperature. Every mitered corner must be glued and mechanically fastened-glue alone will not hold the joint closed long term. Support the full length of the moulding when cutting to avoid chipping. Fasten with stainless steel or hot-dipped galvanized nails to prevent rust stains on the white surface. The surface needs no painting; for exterior runs in direct sun, a coat of 100% acrylic latex paint locks in the colour.
