White PVC door trim is a rigid extruded profile designed to frame interior doorways with a clean, finished edge that requires no painting, no caulking, and no seasonal maintenance. It replaces primed wood casing in residential and commercial door installations. The white color is compounded into the PVC resin-not painted on-so surface scratches do not expose a different substrate color, and the trim does not yellow under indoor lighting.

Why PVC door trim replaces primed wood
Wood casing around interior doors takes abuse that paint was never designed to handle. Vacuum cleaner bumps, mop water splash at floor level, hand oils around the latch side, and seasonal humidity swings that open miter joints by a visible millimeter every winter. Repainting door trim is a chore no homeowner schedules voluntarily.
PVC door trim eliminates the paint cycle entirely. The color runs through the entire profile thickness-scratches and dents do not expose raw material of a different color. The closed-cell structure does not absorb moisture, so miter joints at the top corners of the door frame stay closed through seasonal humidity swings that would open a wood casing joint. Installers use the same miter saw, the same trim nails, and the same adhesive as wood-the only difference is they never come back to paint.

Installation
PVC door trim cuts with a standard miter saw fitted with a fine-tooth blade. Nail with a 16-gauge or 18-gauge trim nailer through the face or edge, same as wood. PVC-specific adhesive applied to miter joints before nailing prevents joint separation during temperature cycling. Leave a 1/8″ expansion gap at the floor line if the trim runs to the floor-cover with a PVC baseboard or plinth block.
For bathrooms, laundry rooms, and other high-moisture doorways, seal the cut end at the floor with a bead of silicone to prevent capillary water uptake through the exposed core at the bottom edge. The face and factory edges are sealed by the extrusion skin and do not require additional sealing.
