The real estate industry now plays a significant role in Morocco's economy. As the Moroccan population becomes increasingly demanding, housing demand continues to grow, with a clear trend toward home comfort and a strong interest in beautifully decorated and well-designed interiors. This is creating new demand in the surface covering industry, where innovation is constantly growing in both design and quality.
Morocco's stone industry was historically held back by the lack of laws regulating the stone market, underdeveloped infrastructure at quarrying sites and high transport costs. In addition, insufficient investment in R&D, vocational training and high-level professional talent left stone workers with outdated skills and low production capacity that could not meet market demand. In recent years, however, Morocco has steadily increased infrastructure investment, with major housing, dam, telecommunications, road and satellite town projects launched every year. As a result, large quantities of stone, tile and other building materials are imported, creating strong opportunities for international companies seeking to enter the Moroccan market.
