Exhibition Introduction

BATEV, the Buenos Aires International Building Materials Exhibition, is the most important exhibition for building materials and construction machinery in Argentina and one of the key business opportunities for entering the country's most thriving industry. The exhibition brings together and integrates the entire building materials market, gathering companies from Argentina and neighboring countries to present their products and services. It also attracts hundreds of thousands of professional visitors from Argentina and other countries, most of whom are professionals with purchasing power in the industry, including architects, real estate developers, decoration and renovation managers, import and export traders, designers and technical personnel - all of very high quality.

Argentina is the second-largest economy of the Southern Common Market (Mercosur), and zero-tariff trade is applied among the member states of this common market. Therefore, any product that enters the Argentine market means unobstructed access to the markets of other Mercosur member states such as Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay.

Argentina Buenos Aires Building & Construction Exhibition

Argentina is the second-largest economy of Mercosur and borders countries such as Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay, Brazil and Bolivia, giving it a significant position in South American trade as an important market second only to Brazil. In the first quarter of 2010, its gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 9.3%, a figure that placed Argentina ahead of Brazil (8.9%) and, together with China, Thailand and Peru, among the fastest-growing economies in the world. At the same time, in recent years Argentina's building materials sales have also climbed sharply, with bricks up 71.8%, rebar up 52%, ceramics up 45.5%, coatings up 44.5%, cement up 29% and asphalt up 19.5%, becoming an important factor driving its domestic economic growth.

The exhibition covers the entire building and construction chain, from decoration and finishing to construction equipment, intelligent buildings, building hardware and doors and windows, providing exhibitors and visitors with a comprehensive platform for product display, technical exchange and business cooperation across the Argentine and broader South American markets.
